About this event

This year, the Downtown Business Alliance (DBA) and the Saratoga County Chamber of Commerce are teaming up once again as the annual Celebrate Saratoga event falls perfectly on the July 4th kickoff weekend of the Saratoga Race Course summer meet.

Spend your day enjoying elite thoroughbred racing at the track, then head downtown for dinner at one of Saratoga’s world-class restaurants before capping off your holiday with free outdoor concerts, family activities, and a spectacular fireworks display!

Firecracker 4 Road Race & Sparkler Fun Run

Time: Kids' Sparkler Run at 8:15 a.m. | Main 4-Mile Race at 9:00 a.m.

Begin your Independence Day festivities in an invigorating fashion by registering for the 20th Annual Firecracker 4! Supporting more than 2,500 runners, it stands as the longest and largest July 4th road race in North America.

The USATF-certified four-mile course kicks off right on Broadway in front of the Saratoga Springs City Center, taking runners on a fast, fun, and challenging route through the city's historic East Side neighborhood. With live musicians and water stations keeping energy high along the route, the atmosphere is unmatched. Younger athletes can join the fun early with the 0.2-mile Sparkler Fun Run on Maple Avenue, giving kids the thrill of crossing the official main race finish line under a giant American flag!

Free Evening Music & Entertainment (7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.)

Downtown streets will transform into a vibrant block party with three concurrent live music stages:

  • Ellsworth Jones Place Stage: Live performance by Garland Nelson and his band Soul Session.
  • Caroline Street / Maple Avenue Stage: High-energy classic rock and pop with J Yager and Jukebox Rebellion.
  • Phila Street Stage (New for 2026!): Live roots and bluegrass music with The Millstone Rounders.

Family Fun (Ellsworth Jones Place): From 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., the City Center area will feature face painters, balloon making, caricatures, delicious kettle popcorn, and ice cream from Ben & Jerry's. You can also interact with authentic American Revolutionary War reenactors, adding a touch of living history to our nation's semiquincentennial (250th) celebration.

Declaration Reading & Fireworks Display (9:00 p.m.)

Gather downtown just before 9:00 p.m. for a traditional, patriotic reading of the Declaration of Independence. Immediately following the reading, a spectacular, towering fireworks display will launch from the top of the City Center Parking Garage, visible from all across the downtown district.
