2020 Program Highlights Coming Soon. 2019 Highlights Below:

"Predators of the Sky"

Learn what makes owls, hawks and falcons such effective hunters in this exciting free-flight demonstration by VINS educators!

"Whoo Cares About the Arctic?"

The Arctic National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR) supports 36 mammal species and more than 200 species of birds. Meet an endangered Short-eared owl, Snowy owl and other raptors that winter in the Washington County Grasslands as you learn about this vital habitat and the birds and animals that depend on it for their survival.

WILD Encounter

Follow a trail through a new and expanded WILD Encounter to meet and learn about native raptors in the “natural” habitats they depend on for their survival. Keep an eye out for live porcupine, opossum, red or gray fox and other mammals along the way! NEW Arctic habitat features Short-eared owls, Snowy owls and other wintering raptors on their summer breeding grounds!
